The ESC is excited to announce Megan Ash, ESC Coordinator of Digital Learning, was recently selected as the recipient of the Quality Matters (QM) 2019 Directors’ Award For Exceptional Service in K-12. 

 

The Award for Exceptional Service is presented to members of the QM community who have gone above and beyond common service to the organization. These individuals have made extraordinary contributions to QM’s quality assurance efforts with online and/or blended education at institutions, and for learners.

 

When asked about being selected as a recipient of the award, Megan stated: “I have long respected the work of Quality Matters. To be recognized by the organization and by their staff is an incredible honor.”

 

Megan will receive the award at the QM ConnectLX conference in October.?

Megan joined the ESC in 2012 and has been working with Quality Matters since then. 

“My continued involvement with QM has enabled me to be aware of current, research-supported best practices in online/blended course design. Additionally, I have had the great opportunity to travel throughout the country to facilitate professional learning sessions on behalf of QM,” said Megan. 

“My work with QM, as a certified facilitator and course reviewer, helps me to apply QM’s principles of high-quality course design not only in the courses that I develop for ESC|Online but also as I offer guidance and support to our member districts as they develop and deliver their own online and blended courses,” she added.

Quality Matters is a nonprofit organization comprised of a dedicated staff that works together virtually to support everyone’s quality assurance goals. It relies on its large community of QM Coordinators, workshop facilitators, peer and master reviewers, program reviewers, conference presenters to define and maintain quality assurance in online learning.

The QM Awards recognize individual and institutional efforts exemplifying QM’s focus on learners. Awardees demonstrate a commitment to ensuring high course quality and using different but valuable approaches to improving learner outcomes. Winners for the awards are announced each year at the QM Annual Conference on Quality Assurance in Online Learning.

The QM 2019 Directors’ Award For Exceptional Service in K-12 recognizes a K-12 Organization or Individual that has implemented QM Standards and processes, demonstrated impacts on learner outcomes and/or made significant contributions to learners’ experiences through instructional design, faculty professional development or related initiatives. Implementation should be either broadly transformative or significantly and directly meaningful for learners.
