Description:

Join Science and STEM Specialist, Rob Niedermeyer, and fellow educators for a series of monthly, one-hour virtual sessions that dive into various STEM themed topics. Each session will include discussions, demonstrations, time to interact with your peers, and Q&A with the session lead.

Participants will leave with new perspectives and some resources to expand their thinking. Participants may choose to schedule time with facilitators for continued on-site conversations related to these sessions. Sessions are provided at no cost.

At the elementary level, science education takes a back seat to reading and mathematics. These foundational skills are essential for student success in the future, but so are the questioning and inquiry skills taught through the scientific method. As Ohio becomes a hub for innovation, science instruction cannot be put on pause until upper elementary school. In this session participants will learn about equitable access to science instruction, and how to create more opportunities for scientific inquiry while still meeting the time constraints of their classroom.
