The one-day Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Initial class will be offered to district and community agency staff serviced under the ESCCO service area. The course will address the following:
• Understanding Behavior and Its Risk
• The Crisis Development Model
• Awareness of Pre-Conditions, Integrated Experience, and Rational Detachment
• Supportive Communication skills
• Defensive Behaviors and de-escalation approaches
• Safety Interventions- Disengagement skills, Holding Skills- (Demonstration)
• Debriefing/Problem-solving approaches- Restorative Approaches
• Participants will be expected to actively participate in all modules and activities
• Pass the CPI post-test
