In late September, the ESC's grant proposal "Project Zero - Going Deeper" was approved by the
Martha Holden Jennings Foundation for an open grant award. The grant award will allow several ESC member districts to participate in the
Harvard Graduate School of Education's Project Zero, including Bexley City Schools, Buckeye Valley Local Schools, Columbus City Schools, Dublin City Schools, Grandview Heights City Schools, Groveport Madison Local Schools, Hilliard City Schools, Northridge Local Schools, Olentangy Local Schools, Reynoldsburg City Schools, Upper Arlington City Schools, Whitehall City Schools, and Worthington City Schools.
The grant award will support district teams' participation in Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) Project Zero coursework, an HGSE-hosted in-person event in Central Ohio in spring 2022, and ESC-convened learning groups regarding online course/sessions across districts as needed. Project Zero is an intellectual wellspring, nourishing inquiry into the complexity of human potentials – intelligence, understanding, thinking, creativity, cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural thinking, ethics – and exploring sustainable ways to support them across multiple and diverse contexts. Anchored in the arts and humanities, and with a commitment to melding theory and practice, they continue to work towards a more enlightened educational process and system that prepares learners well for the world that they will live, work and develop in.
