The ESC has recently been selected to join the Partnership to Advance Youth Apprenticeship (PAYA) Network, a national initiative dedicated to expanding high-quality youth apprenticeship programs by raising awareness, mobilizing policy, and strengthening action and investment. The ESC was chosen after a competitive review process that considered over 85 organizations from across the country.

The PAYA Network, led by New America, recognizes innovative organizations working to connect young people to quality careers through youth apprenticeships. The ESC currently supports the development and implementation of pre-apprenticeships in 12 of Ohio’s 16 career clusters, including health care, education, manufacturing, construction, information technology, and many others. As of January 2025, the ESC hosts over 250 unique plans with 33 educational partners.

As a PAYA Network member, the ESC will gain access to leading research, best practices, and collaborative opportunities with organizations across the country. This partnership will support the ESC’s ongoing efforts to enhance work-based learning experiences, strengthen business-education partnerships, and equip students with the skills and experiences needed for long-term career success.
