The ESC was awarded a
College Credit Plus Teacher Credentialing Grant from the
Ohio Department of Education and Workforce in consultation with the
Ohio Department of Higher Education. The grant will support graduate coursework for high school educators to teach college courses under the College Credit Plus program. Ohio’s biennium budget (House Bill 33) allocated $3 million for Fiscal Years 2024 and 2025 for this grant. Grantees will utilize funds to cover the cost of tuition, textbooks, and other materials to support teachers across various districts as they work to become credentialed to teach College Credit Plus courses at their high schools.
The ESC partnered with several higher education institutions and school districts to offer this opportunity to educators in the Central Ohio region. It received an award of $714,555.55.
Higher Education Institution partners include: Ashland University; Columbus State Community College; Franklin University; Otterbein University; and University of Findlay.
School District partners include: Buckeye Valley Local Schools; Canal Winchester Local Schools; Columbus City Schools; Delaware City Schools; Dublin City Schools; Fairbanks Local Schools; Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools; Jonathan Alder Local Schools; Lancaster City Schools; Licking Heights Local Schools; Marion City Schools; New Albany-Plain Local Schools; Reynoldsburg City Schools; The Graham Family of Schools; Upper Arlington City Schools; Westerville City Schools; Whitehall City Schools; and Worthington City Schools.
