When and for how long will the mentors and tutors serve?
AmeriCorps Members will serve 20-30 hours per week from September through May. A total of 675 -900 AmeriCorps Service hours.

What training do the members receive?
AmeriCorps members will be trained in mentoring practices, trauma-informed care, growth mindset, cultural competency, positive behavior supports, and much more. Additionally, tutors will be trained in foundational literacy and math.

How big of a caseload can each member have?
Each mentor may have a caseload of between 10-20 students while tutors can have between 20-30 students.

What grades do members work with?
Reading Tutors work with students K-3, Math tutors work with students K-5, while Mentors work with students 5-12

What is the cost for a district or school to participate?
The district/school match amount is $8,500 per AmeriCorps member. The grant covers all other costs.

What training do the members receive?

How do I request AmeriCorps Members?
Districts or schools are able to request members by completing a request form. Forms are located on either the Mentors or Tutoring page, depending on which program is needed for the school.
