Substance Abuse Family Education (SAFE)

Substance Abuse Family Education (SAFE)

The Substance Abuse Family Education (SAFE) program help teens and adults examine their choices in the context of fact-based risk assessment to promote happier, healthier lives. Using the research-based Prime for Life® model, we create an atmosphere that makes it safe for people to openly explore and inwardly examine how choices affect lives. The workshops do not moralize or dictate. We believe people have reasons for their beliefs and behaviors, and that with new understanding, self-evaluation, and support, most are willing to consider change. No scare tactics. Just deep self-evaluation.

An understanding of the risks associated with alcohol and drug choices is an important tool for protecting what we value. When presented in a non-judgmental way, facts about the effects of alcohol and drugs can provoke new thinking and provide a solid basis for making more informed personal decisions. Twenty-eight years of research and curriculum development have made Prime for Life® a premiere prevention and intervention program.

The Prime For Life® method is recognized by the National Registry of Evidenced-Based Programs and Practices (NREPP). It includes both prevention and intervention content, making it suitable for a wide range of audiences.
