Educator Workforce Boot Camp

In partnership with the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and Columbus Chamber Foundation, the ESC offers the Careers2Classrooms Educator Workforce Boot Camp. Educators, K-12, will gain knowledge about career pathways directly from local industry leaders in the fields of bioscience, construction, energy, healthcare, information technology, modern manufacturing, supply chain & logistics, and transportation industry sectors. By touring local businesses and industries, educators gain insight into the vast number of local careers available to students upon graduation as well as the skills needed for each occupational sector. It provides a unique opportunity for professional development and networking with local businesses and aims to identify and connect students to high-paying, high-demand careers local to the Columbus region.

All participants have the ability to earn graduate credits from Ashland University. Educators will create and present lesson plans and/or projects that will be implemented in the classroom, bridging educators’ current comprehension of those essential career skills to the industry needs. Participants will gain valuable insight to the skills, training and education needed to help prepare their students for the workforce while connecting those careers to their content. The educator investment is only $140.00 while sponsorships will cover the remaining $400.00 ($540.00 value). Participants are responsible for their own transportation.

The Educator Workforce Bootcamp 2025 will be held June 2, 3, 4, 5 & 13, 2025, 8:00 am - 3:30 pm. Seats are limited and only offered to member districts of the ESC of Central Ohio.

Feedback from the Educators

“This was a great experience and I have already told others in my building to look for it next year. I am so glad I took this course, and I agree with Debbie Stith, this should be embedded into the CTE curriculum for new CTE teachers.”

“This bootcamp was an amazing experience! I gained valuable knowledge and ideas on how to expand on our current pathways, as well as partnerships to best support our students in providing meaningful experiences to better enhance their educational journey.”

Feedback from the Businesses

“I loved seeing how excited the teachers were to do the activities we shared in their classroom. Many of the teachers mentioned that they did not know about specific roles in tech so I’m glad we were able to share those with them”.

“Teachers really did not know what manufacturing had to offer their students or that we were so willing to partner with them”.
